Ashish Dashottar (the-SHow-thrr) is a certified yoga instructor, having completed the Teacher’s Training Course (TTC) from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram in Madurai, India.

Ashish was awarded with the title of Yoga Siromani (Jewel of the Crown of Yoga) and the certificate is recognized worldwide by the Yoga Alliance for the required hours standard for Registered Yoga Schools (RYS). Ashish has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and has participated in several yoga, meditation, and wellness programs in the U.S., Bahamas, and India.

Along with teaching mat-based Sivananda Yoga classes to the general public, Ashish also teaches chair-based Adaptive Yoga classes to nursing and skilled care patients where he leverages all the essential elements of yogic exercises (breathing, warm-up, core, posture) toward benefits of healing, well-being and spirit.

Ashish Yoga clients include ManorCare Health Services, Asbury Methodist Village, Village at Rockville, Victory Housing, SEED School of Washington DC, Brightview Senior Living, RCM of Washington, and the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.. He is also the creator and author of the blog Think Ahimsa: Ideas for Creating Non-Violence.
